- Logan Afton and Bill Riippi met with Michael Becker to discuss upcoming activities, church needs and fundraising.
- SH Strategic Planning Group – Met on 2/21. Developing draft report. Working to supply Diocese with
- Fr. McGivney, Star Award and Charter on display in Brincefield hall
- Providing donation to CDA for $300 for Festival of Tables (and support for FF, WMD, St. Patrick’s etc)
Treasurer Report –
- Updated membership with checking account balance.
- Working on getting service to receive money electronically (similar to Square). Charges apply only when used. Pursuing trial run during Fish Fry events.
- Semi-Annual Audit was completed and submitted to Supreme and State.
- Supreme Bill for Per Capita, Catholic Advertising and Culture of Life submitted for payment.
- Fundraising Committee – The church is open to Bingo. They are also open to BBQ pit. They are checking on details. Also discussing Casino Night.
- State Raffle Money, Tickets and paperwork must be turned in to DD by next Business Meeting./
Membership Report –
The council currently has 101 Active Members. Membership should increase to 103 when Supreme processes a few outstanding transfers.
Other Reports
Our programs as Knights of Columbus should help provide encouragement, engagement and evangelization to our parish and the community. We pray that Our Lord will accomplish His will and lead us to holiness, helping us work towards being better men and better disciples.
Family Director – Chris Castille
- Family of the Month – Darrell and Sandra Kimball were selected for February. Darrell has been involved in Scouts, many council events, and working with the Assembly to support the VA. Darrell and Sandra are very involved with their grandchildren as well.
- Knight of the Month – Tom Voigner has taken the lead on upcoming Partners for Hope and his regular support of Sister Mary Robert’s Ministry.
- Food for Families – Support Sister Mary Roberts Ministry. Knights are needed to bag up items and help load cars. We need to support Friday 6-8 pm and Saturday morning from about 8:30-12. The last one was 2/16 and 17. Many Knights came out over 2 days to make this a success. Over 40 families were served. The next SMRM is 3/22 and 23.
- World Marriage Day – Event was a success. Just under 50 couples came out to Celebrate. Thanks to Knights, CDA, Gretchen, Scouts, Luke.
Faith Director – Duane Krzysik
- Lenten Breakfast – Mar 4th after morning mass. Event was a success. About 50 people and lots of food.
- Cursillo – Info provided 1/25. Men’s Weekend 6/6-9. See Ted Blanton.
- Men’s Knight - COR All Men are welcome to come start a new series on the Mission of the Family. This new dynamic video series proclaims the truth and beauty of the Catholic vision of marriage and family life in the modern world. March’s topic was Marriage: The foundation of the Family. April will be on the gift of Children. The videos and materials are produced and sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Men's Night will be on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM in the school Art Room. The next one is April 4th.
- Holy Hour and Adoration – Knights are signed up for Holy Hour and Adoration on the First Saturday of every month from 7 am to 8 am (immediately before mass). Next one is on April 6th.
- Fish Fries – 2/23, 3/8, 3/22. Nick C will be heading this effort up. We need your help. It usually takes about 20 members per event.
Community Director – Jim Bertrand
- School Free Throw Contest – Prizes awarded. The school was very happy with event.
- St. Patrick’s – Event on 3/16 was a success. Thanks to all who helped make this happen.
- Partners in Hope – Dinner April 4th 5:30 until 8 PM at Benton Convention Center in Winston Salem to support Triad Catholic Charities. Tom Voigner has details. Currently Sacred Heart has 2 tables.
Life Director – Len Kobylus
- Special Olympics-
- Spring Games volunteers needed for the Spring Games on April 10th at West Rowan HS.
- Polar Plunge – Knights Team donated over $3K and was recognized at the organization who brought most money, edging out the Civitans and the Elks. A picture and article about the event were on the front page of the Salisbury Post.

- LAMB –
- Lamb funds will be used to support the Special Olympics in Rowan County $1324 and Arc of Rowan County $500. The council reached 99% of the Goal.
- Belk Charity should be coming up near the end of April. Waiting for Details. Checks from last year to be distributed.
