GRAND KNIGHT REPORT

• Online Officers Meeting (Google Meet) 2nd Tuesday

• Audit - Completed and sent to Supreme and State

• Communications – Web page https://salisburykofc.org/  and calendar operational (but needs updating) , newsletter, bulletin and email announcements. Mail Chip set up.  (Mark Hartley)

• Tony D’Mello has been appointed by Supreme as our New Financial Secretary.

 

Treasurer Report – The Treasurer, GK and 2nd Year Trustee have signature authority on checks.

Membership Report – Jim Bertrand and Uriel Belman Flores for Exemplification 8/11. The council currently has 89 Active Members

 

OTHER REPORTS

Our programs as Knights of Columbus should help provide encouragement, engagement and evangelization to our parish and the community. We pray that Our Lord will accomplish His will and lead us to holiness, helping us work towards being better men and better disciples.

 

Family Director – Jay Basinger

• Family of the Month – Jay will be organizing a committee to assist with the submission and recognition of Family of the month.

• Food for Families – Support Sister Mary Roberts Ministry. Knights are needed to bag up items and help load cars. We need to support Saturday morning from about 9-12. The date can vary month to month We should supply a minimum of 3-5 five guys every month. Next one is Oct 22nd.

• World Marriage Day – 2/11. Knights to sponsor event. Others in church will assist.  Sue and Sam Tuluri are helping to head committee. Kickoff meeting was held on 9/11. Next meeting is scheduled for 10/2.

• “No Greater Love” movie about Mother Teresa will be showing at Tinseltown on Oct 3rd and 4th at 7 pm.

Faith Director – John Baughman

• Into the Breach – a program to deepen men’s spirituality and formation to combat the crisis of religious faith in our world. We will cover a different topic each month. Fr. Eckert will give monthly reflections during Men’s night. Supreme has a video for each topic. The council will have booklets for reflection and discussion. The discussion will be during the social. Video and small group discussion at social to follow. Oct 6th at 6:30.

• Holy Hour and Adoration – Knights are signed up for Holy Hour and Adoration on the First Saturday of every month from 7 am to 8 am (immediately before mass). Next one is on Oct 1st.

• Eucharistic Congress – 4 Knights went with family

• Refund Support Vocational Program (RSVP) – Vocational Chairman Sal Potestivo will assist in communications and prayers for our two seminarians. The council will donate $500 each to be eligible for a refund of $200 from Supreme.

• Blessed Fr. Michael McGivney Memorial – (August 13th) Fr. Eckert has agreed to offer daily mass on August 13 for Blessed Fr. McGivney and talk about him during the homily. Hand out canonization prayer cards, McGivney Guild membership applications and booklets. 

• Men's Conference on September 17th at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Mooresville. Father John will be the Main Speaker. Father John would like the Knights to attend, if possible.

• Dominican Sisters Retreat Meal support 9/25-9/27. CANCELLED

• Rosary prior to meetings

• Assist Family Director with Food for Families – Support Sister Mary Roberts Ministry.

• Rowan Helping Ministries -

• Coat Drive – Help with Sister Mary Roberts drive in November

• Help with admission to School Athletic Events. Requested by Curran Sentilles Director of Student Activities (Schedule available – who can help).  Diocese Safe Children program required.         


Life Director

• Life Chain – October 2nd from 2-3 pm

• LAMB -Help those Least Among My Brethren – LAMB. Tootsie Rolls will be sold (by the box) after Masses beginning Saturday October 1st.  After each Mass Knights dressed in LAMB aprons, will be offering Tootsie Rolls to all Parishioners.  Remember it’s time to get ready for the visiting Trick or Treaters!  No better way than supporting this great Charity and preparing for kids on Halloween at the same time. Brother Knights will step forward and assist in promoting this worthy Charity at all masses.  LAMB Coordinator – Michael Hallet (704) 239-6738

• Special Olympics- Get our council plugged into the activities and needs of Special Olympics. Duane will get information to Len.

• Tuesday, November 1st is the Rowan Pregnancy Support Centers' Annual Banquet.  The Knights will be supporting with a $500 donation and seeking an additional $100 from Supreme under the ASAP program.

• Room at the Inn - The Knights are invited to a meeting at Sacred Heart at 7 pm on Oct 3rd, to hear about the ministry at the Room at the Inn.  The speaker will discuss the pregnancy support ministry, and how they use the monies donated to the Room at the Inn in Greensboro.

 

Unfinished Business


• Nativity Scene repair or replacement. Duane Krzysik to follow up on statue.  Tom George has repaired manger.

• Shirts – Shirts are in and available for pick up.  XL and below $30, XXL $31 and XXXL $32

New Business


• Shed Repair – Council voted to approve revised quotes obtained by Jeep to perform repairs to shed.

• Council approved annual budget

• Council approved assisting Barbara with purchase of replacement signs.

Next Meeting – Council Picture
